Sexy 2011 Calendar Girl Party

Once again Superior Tattoo Equipment proves that we are still the only company to continuously strive to maintain a personal relationship with our customers. Often imitated but never duplicated may be a cliché, but it’s never been more true than with Superior Tattoo Equipment. This time we brought the party to you with our 2011 Superior Girls calendar release party at McFaddens Restaurant and Saloon in Glendale Arizona. Supporters of Superior Tattoo were literally lined up out the door waiting to get in and meet this year’s collection of tattooed ladies, and they weren’t disappointed.

Once inside we kicked the party off with drink specials for our guests followed by the hot Superior Girls signing calendars and posters all night for eager admirers.

Besides drinking and hitting on our girls all night, guests were invited to participate in a variety of tattoo contests. Over $1000 in cash and prizes was given away to winners who showed us a wide array of tattooed body parts! Some really beautiful work was on display, as well as one person with some not so glamorous ink who was awarded a gift certificate from Artistic Tattoo of Phoenix to come in and have their tattoo revamped!

After all was said and done, McFaddens and Superior Tattoo Equipment managed to put on one hell of a party and if you missed it be sure to keep checking back at Superior Tattoo for details on date and location of our next event. We love making new friends, reuniting with old ones and really hope to see you in person when we’re out on the town. Superior Tattoo Equipment proves time and time again we don’t condone any elitist attitude in the tattoo industry and we work hard to make sure we don’t forget get the customers who made us who we are today. Thanks for your continued support and we’ll see you at the next show!

Phoenix is Hot!

The only things hot in Phoenix on Tuesday Oct 5th were the deals at Superior Tattoo Equipment and our Superior Girls strutting their stuff in our 2011 calendar. At about 4:30pm the skies opened up and dumped inches of rain and tons of hail on us. Hail ranged from pea sized to chunks larger than tennis balls all across the valley. Freeways came to a stand still and for just a few minutes even sales at the front counter were halted by a power outage that left us in the dark! The torrent was over almost as quickly as it started, but the damage left in its wake will take weeks to repair. Trees were knocked over, power lines downed and hundreds of cars will never be the same. If you think Phoenix is just a hot desert waste land, take a look at these photos and see for yourself what a constantly changing city it can be. There’s always something exciting happening here at Superior Tattoo Equipment. Log on to our website 24 hours a day 7 days a week and see what’s new!

The boss is gonna be mad!

I haven’t even finished the next tattoo blog and we already have another big winner. We give away $5, $10 and $25 winning scratch tickets everyday, but we did it again; Superior Tattoo Equipment just gave away another $250 dollars in tattoo supplies and equipment! Tattoo Mike from Mike’s Ink in Phoenix is our second walk-in customer in just 8 days to win big from a Superior Tattoo Scratch Ticket.

Superior Tattoo Scratcher Winner

I told you before that we give away a scratch ticket with every single internet order and front counter purchase made at Superior Tattoo Equipment, but maybe you didn’t realize how often we’re giving prizes away over here! In fact, not only did Mike win $250, but he’s also won additional $5 and $10 prizes too! Here you can see the Boss trying to pull Mike over the counter and put him to work so he’ll stop winning!

Come by the shop and see if you can take some of the boss’s money for yourself! If you don’t believe that we have winners in the store everyday, just ask Tattoo Mike. The next time you’re interested in getting some work done, you can be sure that He’s got a stack of the newest merchandise a winning scratch ticket can provide. Look him up at Mike’s Ink (480) 430-3550. Tell him Superior Tattoo Equipment sent ya! Congratulations Mike.

Superior Tattoo Equipment is giving it away!

Superior Tattoo Scratcher Winner

The excitement here at Superior Tattoo Equipment never stops, and just hours ago we proved once again that we’re the only tattoo equipment supplier that consistently gives back to its customers! Unless you live under a rock you already know that Superior gives away a scratch ticket with every purchase, and we have winners in the store all day, but yesterday was extra special because Jonathon here won himself a gift certificate worth $250 bucks!

The story gets even better; Jon came in to redeem a $5 gift certificate he had previously won. With that purchase he got the $250 dollar winning ticket, and then after picking out some more items he received a third ticket worth another $5! He was on a roll and ended up taking home $260 worth of free gear! You could be next!

The hottest tattooed girls are coming! The hottest tattooed girls are coming! Ok, so that’s not quite what Paul Revere was shouting as he rode from house to house on that early April morning in 1775. But he would’ve if he could see what we’re working on for you. For the last month or so we’ve been hard at work (no pun intended) photographing beautiful women for our second annual Superior Tattoo Equipment Tattooed Girls Calendar. Yep, work is hell sometimes.

Superior Tattoo Calendar Blog

If you didn’t get last year’s calendar you really missed out. Seriously, some of Arizona’s sexiest women posed in various state of undress just so you could appreciate them in all their beauty. In fact, you can still get those calendars at 50% off to hold you over until the new calendars are released. Who cares if the years almost over? We’re talking about big full color photos of 12 hot girls. This year we have 12 new and different women, so you better buy the 2010 calendar while you still can, because those girls are super hot and they’re going into the archives as soon as the 2011 calendar hits.

Superior Tattoo Calendar Blog

So what goes into the production of a super sexy calendar? Well first we scoured the city looking for tattooed girls. We published casting calls using our facebook page, myspace page and Model Mayhem accounts. Also, we kept an eye open for women who fit the bill while we were out on the town and visiting the local tattoo shops we supply. Keep checking back here and our social networking sites for the 2012 casting call, it’s coming sooner then you think! Once we had the women picked out, we had to arrange times and locations. Can you imagine trying to get a bunch of hot girls scheduled for individual photo shoots? We were very fortunate and got our girls to show up in small groups of 3 or 4 at the same time. We’d meet here at Superior for hair, makeup and some paperwork, and then when everyone was ready we’d head out to the location(s). This year wasn’t the same “Girl in a tattoo studio” stuff you’re use to. We are lucky enough here at Superior to have some close friends with very cool private locations. As you can imagine, privacy leads to women being very comfortable, and our girls did indeed get comfortable (read naked).

You didn’t think I was going to give away pictures of our newest girls just yet did you? I’m sorry, but here’s what we have done for you, a video sneak peak! Watching this a few times should hold you over until we’re done putting the real calendar together. Also keep checking MySpace because occasionally I slip and post a preview of our hot ½ naked girls there. =)

We photographed the new girls, and amassed a total of over 5700 photos! Five Thousand Seven Hundred! There was no way we were only going to show you 12 pictures from that collection, so we’ve narrowed it down to the best 65 or so and packed the calendar with images. I dare you to try and buy a calendar with more sexy tattooed girls stuffed in it!

Right now our design team is building the pages for the calendar, deciding what to tease your senses with. We don’t just ship off our photos to some mass producer of calendars, we hand pick and tediously build each page. We know you work hard for your money and we want to provide you with one of the hottest calendars around. Something your friends will see and immediately pull off your wall, at which point you’ll smack their hands and tell them to buy their own!

So you’re obviously wondering…When I can buy them!? Well you’re going to have to stay in touch with us here at Superior Tattoo Equipment to find out! And we’ve made staying in touch and in tune with the tattoo community easy! You can follow the Tattoo Times link from our website, Join us on Facebook and MySpace, follow our tweets and sales on Twitter or sign up to have our bi-weekly newsletter “The Tattoo Times” emailed directly to you by sending your name and email address to scott.shnurman@superiortattoo.com.

So here’s looking forward to another year of gorgeous women provided by your friends at Superior Tattoo Equipment! Make sure you get your 2011 Calendar before they run out!

Hell City Phoenix

I arrived at Hell City about 7pm on Friday night full of sushi and expectations. I was not disappointed. If you didn’t attend or don’t already know the venue was the beautiful Arizona Biltmore. Let me just point out the professionalism of the staff right away. The only empty drink containers I saw all weekend were on the trays of the dozen or so staff busily tending to the patrons of the event. I hope they know how much their service was appreciated.

I started my evening by checking in at the main stage to watch Phoenix locals The Father Figures kick off as the first live band of the event. The Father Figures are the collective effort of Michael Cornelius (formerly of JFA) on guitar and vocals, Bobby Lerma on drums and vocals, and longtime friend of Superior Tattoo Equipment, Tom Reardon on vocals and bass guitar.

After watching the performance for a bit I decided to start checking out the booths and see who’s at this years show. One of the great things about live music at conventions is you can watch the band for a few songs, and then browse the show while still listening to a great soundtrack.

The first thing I noticed at each booth was the incredible artwork that was available. Not just in tattoo form, but the “fine art” that was there to be purchased. You could wallpaper your home with all the great posters and prints available. I had to pace myself just to keep from buying everything in the first row of booths.

At the end of that row I found my good friends from Immaculate Tattoo, Mando Rascon and Aaron Coleman. Whenever they weren’t hard at work tattooing they were drawing and talking with guests of the show. They are two of the nicest guys in the business.

Moving along I came across the work of Big Gus from Demented Image Tattoos and the Sullen Family. This style of tattooing and clothing has seen a huge jump in popularity lately, and it’s obvious why.

Speaking of trends in the industry, I couldn’t help but notice a lot of the same items popping up in booth after booth that I passed by. I saw a lot of ultra compact but still very powerful power supplies as well as a variety of machines. Traditional coil machines still reign as king, but the rotaries and pneumatics were present and we should be seeing some advances in those technologies in the upcoming months. Disposable needle and tube combos were in high demand (look for an upcoming article on the pros and cons), probably because of their ease of use and the fact that they are pre sterilized means no running out of clean tubes or trying to track down an Autoclave.

Tattoo inks were as varied as colors in the visible spectrum. I think I saw everything from melted checkers to brilliant Starbright Colors, every artist had his or her own preference. But one thing that did not appear to be an option this year that we haven’t seen much of in the past, was stencil application products like Tattoo Stencil Magic. I guess tattooers finally got sick of their stencils rubbing off halfway through a tattoo!

I wrapped up the evening by doing another lap of the entire show and soaking in sites I might have missed the first time around. Of course I had to make a couple passes in front of the Suicide Girls booth, casually trying to ogle the girls there. They did a great job presenting tattoo awards to all the winning entries. I would’ve liked to be up there on the stage as well. There were so many incredible artists there it was hard to resist the itch, but I didn’t get tattooed at the show.

Conventions are such a great way to see the new and old talent that’s out there. Sure, looking at someone’s flash book is cool, but there’s nothing quite like seeing a fresh tattoo to really get an idea of the skill involved. If you haven’t been to a convention recently (or ever), you really need to get out there and experience it. Click here to view a current list of conventions and what coming to your area. Scroll to the bottom of the page to read our Convention Survival guide for tips and tricks on how to make the most of the experience and get through your weekend in one piece.

As for me, all of this was just the first few hours of a three day event. I went everyday and there were sights and sounds to keep me coming back for more. It would take pages and pages to describe each visit there. It was great and I can’t wait for the next event. Will it be Las Vegas? Maybe somewhere on the east coast? I don’t know, but I do know Superior Tattoo will be there in body or represented by our equipment in the hands of professionals like these.

Until next time…
Your friends at Superior Tattoo Equipment.
